One of our six primary custom fabrication capabilities at Rode Welding is spray painting steel projects in an in-house paint booth. This state-of-the-art booth functions as a clean, well-ventilated, and well-lit enclosure to safely spray paint a variety of finishes onto our custom fabricated parts.
As a medium to heavy steel fabricator, Rode has a 15’ H x 12’ W x 22’ L paint booth, giving us the ability to paint large steel objects such as commercial construction machinery and other products for big item industries including automotive, defense, shipping, and power generation. Inside the paint booth, we control air flow, temperature, humidity, and more, to ensure that we are operating under the most efficient process.
By maintaining an in-house paint booth under the same roof as the rest of our primary and secondary services, such as shot blasting prior to the painting process, we have total control of our projects from beginning to end. This gives the Rode team more autonomy over the process, quality, lead times, and costs, ensuring that our customers receive the highest quality product, on-time, and at a good price.
Our custom paint jobs meet all industry quality assurance certifications including:
- ASME Code Section VIII, Division 1, “U” Code Stamp
- ASME Code Section I, “S” Code Stamp
- National Board Inspection, “R” Stamp
Our spray painting technicians and procedures are tested and certified under ASME Section IX and can produce results meeting:
- AWS D1.1
- NAVSEA (MIL STD-248)
- ABS
After painting or conducting any of our other finishing services, all of our parts are tested by a team of expert non-destructive testing technicians to ensure that they meet all industry standards. The team’s strict quality assurance checks include:
- NDT Staff: SNT-TC-1A Level II
- AWS Staff: QC-1 CWI
- Magnetic Particle
- Liquid Penetrant
- Ultrasonic “UT”
- Visual Measurements & Assessments
- Radiograph Testing
